Farmer J Expands Restaurant Operations with iiko Real-time Controls

Farmer J, a quick service multi-store restaurant in the heart of London has rolled out next gen restaurant management software from iiko to support its new store openings and ambitious growth plans.

The installation of iiko at its latest store Finsbury Avenue in the heart of London’s square mile took just one week to complete and all three other existing stores were rapidly implemented in the following weeks.

The iiko cloud platform encompasses restaurant POS, kitchen management, real-time inventory control, AI-based sales forecasting, automated purchasing, staff scheduling, real-time analytics and multi-store management.

Farmer J are changing the game. They care where their ingredients come from and how their food is prepared. They also care about using next gen technology and analytics to improve operational and cost controls. After using several EPOS providers, they finally found a restaurant management system in iiko that connects front-of-house to back-of-house and can handle the speed and complexity of their business with real-time controls.

Key requirements of the new restaurant management solution included:
  • Centralised management & multi-store roll-out
  • Ordering speed – high load/queues during lunch hours
  • Multiple service types – quick service & table service
  • Real-time tracking of batch production & wastage
  • Recipe management of fine quality ingredients
  • Cost control including automated purchasing & real-time P&L
Critical to the selection of iiko was its ability to handle real-time batch management. iiko automatically prepares their chefs for the day ahead. In the morning, they obtain an hourly breakdown of batches to prepare in order to meet forecasted demand. The kitchen team can reflect batch preparation as its
conducted and send an expired batch to waste in the system, in real time.

iiko delivered an all-in-one POS solution bundle including cloud software, touch terminals, kitchen display systems and peripherals, as well as integration to payments services.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the Farmer J team who have rapidly embraced the new technology and training we have provided, which has helped to make the multi-site project such a smooth implementation”, said Simon Dadswell, MD of iiko. “They have a fresh, modern and unique proposition and set very high standards – and we look forward to continuing to support Farmer J with their ambitious growth plans.”

iiko software is used by over 30,000 food and beverage (f&b) businesses in 29 countries including some of the largest brands globally; Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dunkin Donuts, Haagen-Dazs Baskin Robbins, Hesburger and Cinnabon.
